EDITORIAL STANDARD

Research first. Hype last.

Our goal is useful technology journalism that makes complicated subjects easier to understand.

Separate fact from uncertainty

Announcements, reporting, analysis, rumours and speculation are treated differently. When a story involves leaks, we label uncertainty rather than presenting a prediction as a confirmed fact.

Useful before sensational

Headlines and calls to action should tell readers what they will get. We favour clear summaries, practical context and concise navigation over unnecessary visual or copy complexity.

Primary sources where possible

Long-form stories aim to link to manufacturers, standards bodies, regulators, research institutions and other authoritative sources when those sources are available.

Corrections

If you spot an error, use the contact form and explain what should be corrected. We review factual corrections and update stories when warranted.
